Our first date was in the Fall of 1999 after one of my ceramics classes at St Kates. Since I didn't have a cell phone back then I called from St Kates for directions to Jason's place. He gave me very specific directions to his place - including taking a hard left somewhere (instead of just taking a left), and I thought that was pretty funny. We headed out, and Jason stopped for gas. Then he took me to a picnic at the lake - he had brought all kinds of thigs he knew that I liked: 30 packs of pop rocks, goober grape peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot chocolate, and a little pumpkin with flowers in it. He brought his guitar and played music for me - I heard that he had even planned out when the sun would set. Then we went to the movie store and rented the Smurfs Magic Flute movie, and went back to his place to watch it. He then proceeded to take off his socks to show me his 'webbed toes' and we played on his WebTV in a chat room.
After that we talked on the phone a few times, but then nothing ever came of it..... I think that I avoided him one night and I thought he knew I was avoiding him - so I thought he might be mad at me. I guess he didn't know I avoided him and just thought that I was mad at him......
About a year later his mom invited me to her summer party and she told me that Jason would be there. I said "I can't go because he doesn't like me", and then she told me that he thought that I didn't like him! So I went...and he went....we sat out on her swing all night and talked...and love flourished!
