Tell about a frustrating experience you have had with a car.

When I was 16 I was handed down my sister's old maroon mustang. I didn't have my liscense yet but my sister and I decided to drive it to the Mall of America to see the movie Dazed and Confused. We were on Highway 100 heading South, near the Duluth Street exit, when we heard a loud noise. We pulled off the highway onto a residential road and stopped the car. Once we stopped we couldn't get the car to go either forward or backwards again. The muffler had dropped and everytime we tried to drive in either direction the car would lift up onto the muffler. Somehow we got the car going, but we knew that we couldn't stop the car or we would be stuck again. We then were by Milky Field (which used to be the Cooper High School stadium, but it was torn down - it is where Cub Foods now is off of 36th and 100). There was a game going on and people were crossing the road. We had to stop otherwise we would have hit them. Then we were stuck again so we got the car to the side of the road and got a ride home.

My next car was also a mustang, but this time it was black (another hand-me-down from Dawn) and this one had a low muffler as well. I couldn't go over speed bumps and if I drove over anything on the road it would get stuck to the muffler. There was one strip mall that I couldn't even go into by Lake Calhoun because there was a speed bump in the only enterance! One day Debi Stenson and I were driving West on Hwy 55 coming home from downtown and I ran over a styrofoam container. It stuck to the muffler and dragged and dragged and dragged. We pulled off on a side road and Debi reached under and grabbed it out - but it was full of rotten food and she got it all over her hands! This car also was notorious for overheating, so we carried water with us to put on the radiator when the car broke down. It happened all of the time!
