Some random memories of Dad

1. In dad's old car he would always have the seat belt in front seat buckled. We would have to slide in under the seatbelt to get into the seat. He always said that if the release button was pushed the car would blow up.
2. One time at my dad's house I was rubbing his knee for him. After what felt like an hour (in my time) he let me know that I was rubbing the knee that he had no feeling in.
3. He always used to make his feet into 'puppets'. This was probably largely my imagination, but I remember him bouncing them around like they were talking and we would make up things that they were 'saying'.
4. He used to tell me that the crunchy things in butter brickle ice cream were frozen boogers.
5. Once when he was watching us at our house I had a cold. He put me down for a nap with a cough drop and told me not to bite into it. He was out in the living room and I was in my room and the moment I bit into it he reminded me that he told me not to bite into it. I was amazed that he could hear me (but it was probably coincidence.....).
6. When he lived in the apartments by our house I made a May Day basket for him, hung it on his doorknob, knocked, and ran away. Later he told me that he thought someone had left it there for me and he didn't know that I had left it there for him.
7. Once he broke his leg from jumping off of a train - I remember coloring on his cast.
8. He fell asleep driving once and ran into a bridge. Everyone was going to go visit him in the hospital but my mom told us not to cry when we saw him. I knew that I would cry so I demanded that I not go. So everyone went without me, and I always felt bad for not going.
9. When we were little he had a full gorilla costume - that was scary!
10. He always pulled and cracked my toes when I was little (now Jason does this to Lijah all the time).
