Target Bakery

I was talking to a friend at church yesterday who is moving to Plymouth. We were trying to figure out where her new place was in relation to where I grew up since it is right on the border of Crystal. I mentioned that I was right by the Crystal Target growing up - and she said she knew right where that was. She brought up that they went to that Target when she was little and that she loved the bakery there. I had totally forgot about the bakery in Target!!!

The Target bakery was the best ever because they had all kinds of kids birthday cakes. They had a big glass display along the back wall and a display case in front will tons of different cake examples. These were the good cakes, with lots of colored frosting....Big Bird, rainbows, ones that looked like fishin' holes, roller skates, anything you could imagine as a kid....they had it there. I remember that used to be my favorite part of our Target trips - checking out and being able to look at all of the cakes on the way out.

Do you remember when we would stop at the bakery counter on the way out every time, and watch the cake decorators like they were rock stars putting on a show?

Also- remember when our Aunt Mary got a McGlynns cake once and the red frosting was really spicy (instead of the usual sugary sweet) and the cake tasted disgusting. I wonder who pulled that prank!
